CHANGE IS GOOD . . . . THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
Reflections on Life
By Bob Lucas
There is no one formula for a successful life. Each person approaches the daily challenges encountered in a different way and there are often no easy solutions in today's tough economic situation. Still, some people seem to rise above their troubles and find a way to deal with what life has planned for them. These are the people who know how to set positive goals and stay focused on achieving them.
Everyone has days when they feel "down" a bit; However, if you focus on everything that went wrong in a given day, this feeling of desolation can overwhelm you and soon become your paradigm (how you see the world). Soon, your doom and gloom approach becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and you will defeat yourself.
As a slogan that I once read in the locker room in high school read, "A winner never quits and a quitter never wins. " With that in mind, I offer the following tidbits that may help ease the pain of life when things are not going the way you planned:
1. Love can fill the heart and make you whole. Seek and spread it everywhere you go.
2. Life isn't always fair, but it is your only chance to get it right - stay focused on the positive.
3. Let go of the past, you cannot change it. Instead, focus on making the future the best it can be. 4. As Lao Tzu (Confucius) once noted, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. " If you really want to recover from adversity and to succeed, make a plan and start working toward it today.
5. When you are unsure about a direction in which you are headed in life, proceed slowly by getting started and taking small steps. That allows you to recover more quickly when things go wrong.
6. Life is too short to not to have fun or to waste it. Find things that you like to do with family, friends and at work and focus on getting them done.
7. Persistence and a steady focus will usually get you where you want to go.
8. Life was not created to give you everything you want. Remain flexible and be willing to make some concessions.
9. Everybody will not like you and vice versa. Do not spend unnecessary time trying to fix other people.
10. Friends are more valuable than enemies, gather as many of them as you can through life and spend time enjoying them.
11. You cannot win every argument. Do not make yourself miserable trying. Agree to disagree. 12. It IS okay to let others see you cry. Better to let it out than to internalize and explode.
13. Find a shoulder to cry on. It is better than crying alone.
14. Treat others as they would like to be treated, rather than as you would prefer. Each person is unique and has individual needs. Do not try to force them into your personal mold.
15. Do not try to mimic the lives of others that you see. You have no idea what they have hidden beneath the surface.
16. Remember the old adage, beauty is only skin deep.
17. When things seem out of control, close your eyes, take a deep breath and focus on more positive happy times.
18. When it comes to chasing after your dreams or goals, only you can control the course.
19. You cannot control what others think. Do not dwell on their perspectives.
20. Time passes quickly and with it comes healing and the promise of happiness. Embrace the time you have.
21. Believe in miracles and they will happen.
22. Do not lock yourself away pouting or feeling sorry for yourself. Life's miracles and opportunities are just outside your door.
23. Life may not come in a beautiful box with a bow, but it is certainly a wonderful gift.
24. You control your happiness.
25. Do not save everything for a special occasion. Life is special; celebrate it daily.
26. Remember that the best is yet to come.

CHANGE IS GOOD.....YOU NEED A BIG ONE
Dream Big and Achieve It
BY Nick Mutt
To achieve something big in life you will have to think big, your dream should be bigger and based on that set your targets and achieve it. Most of the people spend their lives in struggling to earn a living. A few people seem to have everything going their way. Instead of just earning a living, the successful people are busily working at building and enjoying a fortune. Everything now seems to work out for them.
What's the major difference between the successful group with so much and the unsuccessful group with so little? Despite all of the factors that have an effect on our lives-like the kind of parents we have, the schools we attended, the friends we have, the society we live in, the part of the country we grew up in-none has as much potential power for affecting our futures as our capability to dream big and achieve it.
Dreams are an outcrop of the kind of life you desire to lead. Dreams can drive you and can make you skip over obstacles. When you allow your dreams to drag you, they unleash an original force that can overpower any barrier in your path. To unleash this power, though, your dreams must be clear and defined. A fuzzy future has small pulling power. Well structured and well defined dreams are not fuzzy. Desires are fuzzy. To really accomplish your dreams, to really have your future plans pull you ahead, your dreams must be vivid.
Think of the people who climb the Mount Everest, How did they get it completed? Carrying one day's supply of food and water is tough job. Can you imagine carrying all of your worldly goods with you, mile after mile, day after day? These people had big dreams and plan for implement it. They had objective. They didn't focus on the adversity of getting up the mountain. Mentality, they were already on the other side-their bodies just hadn't got them there up till now!
Despite all of their trouble and struggles, all of the births and deaths along the way, those who made it to the other side had a single dream: to reach the land of incessant sunshine and extraordinary wealth. Their dreams were stronger than the problem in their way.
I hope in this article, you have read the importance of dreaming big and get benefited to achieve success in life.

Many people fail to get what they want in their life simply because they do not have the success mindset. Every successful person possesses a certain set of mindset that leads them to their success. If you want to be successful as well, adopt these 3 success mindset...
1. Successful people believe that they are responsible for their life. They are who they are today because they believe that they created their own life. You must do the same by adopting this mindset; take 100% responsibility in your life. This is the moment when changes start in your life. So take 100% responsibility from now on.
2. Another one of the top success mindset is this, you must believe in yourself. You have to believe that you have the potential and you are able to do it. Many people doubt about what they can accomplish in their life. The moment you hesitate about whether you can do it, you will never put in 100% commitment to do it. This is because you have shaken the belief in yourself. On the other hand, if you believe that you can do it, you will tap into the full potential and do it with commitment.
3. Finally, you must adopt the mindset of dare to change in order to achieve great success in your life. Ask yourself this question right now, "If I keep on doing what I am doing today, will I achieve what I want in my life?" If the question is a no, it is time for you to change. Get out of your comfort zone and dare to be different. Hold on to your dreams and your goals and do whatever it takes to achieve what you really want in your life.
These are the top 3 success mindset that will get you what you want in your life. As long as you adopt these mindsets into yourself, you will definitely achieve what you want.

CHANGE IS GOOD . . . .LET THE LIGHT SHINE
Awaken Radiance
By Waller McInnes
Look within. There is a light within you that is waiting to shine at all times. No matter where you are in your life, you can connect with the Source of your light. Your inner radiance is there, constantly seeking expression and awaiting an invitation for you to allow it to shine. Left alone, this part of you will grow dark, dense and heavy with the energy from society-the messages from the media and the collective subconscious reminding you that you are not, will never be and cannot become the light that you are simply by being.
The world is designed to sell you more that you will ever need to be who you are. Radiance is your natural birthright and cannot be bought, sold, molded or taught. It is your essence, your beauty, that which you see and feel that you love. You have the permission to allow this to come through you and to follow the guidance that is leading you into full self-expression.
Brought to light, your radiance will lead you to a path with heart. Once you awaken this part of you, your life will never be the same. Your responsibility in this life is to connect with the source of that which brings you into the flow-the radiant light of your heart that is within you and all around you.
Start by noticing what you love. You can go within, and think of a time or place that brings a smile to your face and an uplifting sensation to your heart center. Notice the sensational experience of positive thinking. Rest there for a moment. Feel the heart center opening, safe and expansive, accepting what is there and inviting more light to come in and shine forth. This is your key to awakening to radiance. You can allow this feeling to guide you through your life. As long as you are able to breathe in and follow your inspiration, breathe out and away from your past-you awaken to a faithful journey of awakening to your radiance-the flow which is always available to you.
If you are not consciously connected to your radiance, you are always one breath away from accepting your light and shining it as never before in a whole new way. Your reflection will continue to brighten in the world as you keep coming back to this light within you. You may notice yourself attracting more positive energy-people will want what you have and those who formerly sucked you dry, will follow you along more effortlessly than before. As you move away from thinking there is something wrong with you, you invite your light to shine and others to come out and awaken their lights to shine.
Meditation for Radiance:
Come to a comfortable sitting position. Feel your tailbone slightly untuck and your sits bones blossoming. Allow yourself to go within for this next segment of time. Inhale, soften and receive the breath. Exhale, relax, release, let go. Inhale, draw the breath in through the nose, exhale, release it through the mouth with a "ha". Allow the attention to follow the breath for a minute or so. Bring the attention to the heart center. Feel the feelings of grtitude for your heart center, for all the energy that is there-allow it to open, unravel and expand-healing your energy and spreading down out and the fingertips-passing along the love that is within you, connecting your heart to all beings everywhere. Drop your attention down into the lower abdominals.
Feel soft and expansive in this area. Cultivate a vision-perhaps feel the qualities of an animal (i.e. a dolphin or bird that calls to you) or a place in nature (ie waterfall or ocean)-that embodies space and expansion for you. Rest there, calling on guides or images that connect you to the Source of Universal love that is within you and all around you. Rest here for a few minutes. Allow you radiance to awaken as you sit peacefully in the truth of your existence: you are a radiant being who is here to awaken and shine your light with the world.

CHANGE IS GOOD.......IT'S ALL TEMPORARY
Do You Feel All is Lost Now?
By Daxx Bondoc
Daxx BondocLevel: BasicDaxx Bondoc has been serving the poor with the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa’s sister) since 2004. His works with the poor included Catechesis, Bible ... ...
Suffering is one of the hardest mystery man has to face. Many have lost faith because of it.
So how can we look at suffering and not lose hope?
Imagine you found a book, The Two Towers of The Lord of the Rings. But the book you found lacked the last chapter. The book ended with the Orcs seizing Minas Tirith and defeating the humans. You would think that it was a depressing novel!
Because you have not read what happens next, which is the Riders of Rohan arrives at the break of dawn and defeated the invading Orcs, you would have miss the glory of the ending of the novel.
Sometimes when suffering and pains hit us, we feel that all is lost. This is the end. We have a tendency to summarize our life in that painful moment. And we fall to discouragement and even despair.
But what we forget is that this moment is only a chapter in the story of our life. The story does not end, unless we choose to end it.
God is the Divine Story teller. He directs everything that happens in our lives. Yes, even the painful ones He permits for the greater good.
If it was not for the danger of Sauron of taking over Middle Earth, the humans and elves would have not united. The evilness of Sauron became the reason of their unity, and eventually peace in the lands.
Heroes are born in crisis. It was in the darkest moment of the story when Aragorn took on his kingly role and lead the victory. We can see in history that man's greatness shone during the worst of times. Churchill became great during the Nazi era. Martin Luther King became great during the heights of racism towards the black people in America. And we can see with other great people like Gandhi, John Paul II and Mother Teresa, all of them became great not because it was the best of times. They became great because it was the worst of times.
The darker the night, the brighter the stars shine.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times " - Charles Dickens
We must remember that when suffering hits us, it is not the end. It is only a chapter in our lives. And the chapter continues. And we move on.
We must have faith in God that He has a beautiful ending for our lives. All we have to do is to make it there.

CHANGE IS GOOD.....RESPECT YOURSELF
Negative Talk - The Sure Path to Self-Destruction
By Ian J Spencer
Compare these weeds with negative thoughts that every person experiences from time to time. You are caught in the traffic and you would be thinking, "My boss would kill me today", or you missed your deadline and you think, "This will earn me the pink slip", or you forget your spouses birthday and think, "I will never hear the end of this" and so on. This is common and it is okay. You tend to exaggerate a little when you are in trouble - but you know in your heart that this would not happen. The trouble starts when these thoughts take over and you are convinced that these exaggerations are true or can be even worse than you imagine.
Anxiety does not happen overnight unless you have experienced some major trauma. In most cases, anxiety literally grows on you fed by your negative thoughts and inner fears. It is like a little spark lighted inside when you think something negative; you continue thinking negative the spark would grow into a fire; you start thinking positive, the spark will die out.
So, if you are diagnosed as suffering from anxiety take a step back and identify all the negative thoughts that course through your mind. Make a list (you could carry a little notebook with you) of all these thoughts and at the end of the day write at least two positive versions for every one of the negative thoughts. Focus on the positive. Push your mind to look and hope for the best. Fight the negative thoughts with the opposing positive thoughts as soon and as strongly as you can.
Most people, who suffer from anxiety also feel hopeless, worthless, and followed by doom. It is like that cartoon where there is this little cloud only above your head, which rains on you incessantly. When you suffer from low esteem you tend to accept it when someone talks to you rudely, because you feel you deserve it.
The belief that that you are worthless and the fact that people treat you bad compound the negative thoughts and fire the anxiety symptoms.
Check your body language when you find people bullying you all the time. If you project an image which is timid, fearful, and unsure of yourself, people would tend to override and play with your feelings because that is what your body language tells them to do. You would have definitely seen people who displayed a magnetic and confident personality; they could breeze in the toughest of spots, get things done and move away almost effortlessly.
What do they have that you do not have? Confidence; belief that they can; a positive attitude.
Keep in mind that if you project the picture of a looser you would be treated like one. You need to practice looking confident (even if at times you do not seem so) and walk in with your head held high. Talk distinctly as if you have no doubt that your request would be addressed immediately. Think big, behave big and you would have the world at your feet. Remember the adage, "If you believe you can, you can."
That you need to weed out negative thoughts from your mind is definitely understood. Let us recapitulate the things you need to do so you could control the flow of these thought and the grip that would get on you.
Recognize The Symptoms Of Anxiety I have described in detail the symptoms that are associated with Anxiety disorder. Recognize these symptoms and beware that you are suffering from a disorder, which can be helped provided you adopt the right treatment. If you find that you are worrying excessively, berating yourself over everything that goes wrong, feeling like a victim - you are suffering from anxiety.
Think positive Whatever worries you has a positive side. I am not telling you that the death of a dear one can be changed into a positive thing - at least at the time - but most worries can be averted by thinking positively, i.e. not focusing only on the 'what if this would happen' part. In most cases the 'what if this would happen' never happens. So keep that in mind when you are plagued by worrisome thoughts. Do not indulge in these thoughts. I had a friend who found a very simple way to chase away worry - he started believing that when you think of a bad thing, it would happen; therefore, the moment the thought of a bad thing would enter his mind, he would immediately chase it away with good thoughts. Guess what - it worked. He is now free from anxiety and worry!
You Are Not At Fault - Even When You Are It looks like an oxymoron, but it is not. Let us say that a terrible accident happened because you forgot to press the right button in the factory. It is terrible, true. You are responsible, true. However, mistakes happen with humans, and you are human.
Take the responsibility, accept the penalty, atone for it in whichever way possible, learn from the mistake and move on. 'Move on' means you forgive yourself and forget about this incident - not the lesson. You stop carrying the guilt, you stop saying to yourself you are useless, hopeless, worthless. You start afresh. Tomorrow is a new day, a new beginning. You need to stop putting yourself down and stand up for yourself if others do.
Stop Self-Pity In Its Tracks Self-pity is as bad as berating yourself. If you find yourself feeling like a victim, because everybody seems to take it out on you, stop. You are not a victim. You are not going to let yourself believe that you are the butt of everyone's oppressive behavior. Think positive. You can do whatever you want. You are a survivor. You are a person with self-dignity and strength to fight for yourself whenever you feel you are treated shabbily. Take action now; remedy the problem the same moment it occurs. You will find you feel better every day.

CHANGE IS GOOD......TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY
It's Easy to Become Rich, Famous and Happy - Lesson Three - POSITIVE EXPECTANCY
By Barry Sarner
Success is not about one particular "thing"... It's not even about two, three or five "things." Success is about a journey. Your personal journey. It's about fear. It's about tears. It's about laughter. It's about triumph. It's about setbacks.
That is what the "It's Easy to Become Rich, Famous and Happy" series is all about. We are going to make it happen and this is the road map.
Let's stay together, Never ever give up and move forward to our dreams.
Let's get on with it... One subject at a time, One day at a time. We will Prevail. All of us. Every single one of us. No person left behind.
Lesson THREE Positive Expectancy
You are the director of the movie of your life. That means you have the power to change anything you want in your life. You have the power to move mountains from one scene to another. You have the power to be who you want to be.
There is one catch. . . you must believe, truly believe, in yourself. Let's take a look at the success in your life. Remember a situation and close your eyes and feel it. Look at a real simple one first. Can you honestly say that when you started that particular journey or project you expected it to fail? I highly doubt it. The truth is you had to expect to win more than you expected to lose and there might have been a little luck, being in the right place at the right time or other favorable conditions. The reality of it was that most of it was that you expected to succeed, to get it done, to make it happen.
Expecting good things to happen to you and expecting victory is about self respect and confidence in your yourself.
Positive Expectancy is about attitude. It's about..."No matter what happens, no matter how brutal my reality is, I will Prevail;" "I will be OK;" "I will succeed." " I deserve success."
With this attitude the beautiful thing is that you are allowed to screw up. You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to get knocked on your butt from forces beyond your control. All this could happen to you BUT, and this is a huge BUT, you must have full faith and confidence in yourself that you will get to the other side and be ok.
The person who lives with Positive Expectancy knows how to turn setbacks into new beginnings and sees change as an opportunity to get another chance to do a do over. That person knows that they always get a free pass to start all over again tomorrow...always.
Positive expectancy is not about being a super person and getting everything right all the time. It's about being a human being who understands that life does suck at times and that life is not fair. You may hit the proverbial brick wall at times but you always know that you will be ok and that you will find a way to learn from the setback, change your circumstances , and get up and try again...and again and again and again.
Expect Failure You'll Get it. Expect Success You'll Get It. It's Up To You. It's That Simple.

Let's share our stories, advice and help each other live peacefully with change. LET'S HELP EACH OTHER TO MAKE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE... CHANGE IS GOOD". CHANGE IS GOOD. . . . .CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS
It's Easy to Become Rich, Famous and Happy - Lesson Two
By BARRY SARNER
Hi All...
Let's get on with our "magic mystery tour."
Everything that you are or ever will be is the result of how you use your mind. The world you see is simply the result of thought. Magnificent achievements and wondrous Journeys all started with a thought. I'm telling you now that it is a fact, whatever you believe you can achieve. Think you'll fail ? There is a good chance you will...Think you'll succeed? There is a good chance you will. You'll never be wrong.
The above concept has been covered and written about ad nauseum. The phrase, ad nauseum, has been used ad nauseum. The point?... Obviously you must come to accept this concept as a fact. You must think positive thoughts. You must also accept the fact that this is crazy. It's impossible to think positive thoughts all the time. Let's all agree that where you are today, is where you THOUGHT you were supposed to be. You can change your life by changing the way you think. I'm not minimizing the concept at all. I know it to be true. I've been there and done that but...
What about the negative little buggers that creep into your thinking? The ones that make you sad, angry or fearful. Do you close your eyes and start singing Gloria Gaynor's song "I Will Survive? and hope they go away? No, you don't. You work with your emotions and feelings and move forward.
Learning how to manage and be in control of your mind and all your emotions is a critical, I repeat a critical, step to becoming Rich, Famous and Happy.
Lesson TWO - EMOTIONS
To be able to travel the road to become Rich, Famous and Happy you need to stay in mentally great shape. Situations are always changing. Nothing is static. Embracing the changes can at times be very challenging. Every feeling you experience is influenced by your thoughts. Your thoughts and feelings are connected. Sometimes the days can "feel" very heavy and your thoughts can drain your energy. Negative thoughts bring negative emotions, positive thoughts bring positive emotions and then there are the dreaded feelings from nowhere. You could be feeling great one minute and the next second something changes and a wave of sadness washes over your whole body and you don't know why.
Conscious and subconscious thoughts affect your feelings and feelings affect your thoughts in an unending cycle. You are not unique. You are not alone. This happens to all of us and, yes, it even happens to the Rich, Famous and Happy people. They just learned how to manage their thoughts and emotions and are able to keep moving forward.
It's too darn hard, if not impossible, to fully control your thoughts and emotions. I do my best and try my hardest to at least manage my thoughts but, please"listen"carefully, "I pal around with and pay more attention to my emotions." I'll explain:
1 - The core emotions are Happiness, Sadness, Surprise, Disgust, Anger and Fear. I see my emotions as my friends. My Buds. Sometimes they act like my Buds on steroids but, my buddies never the less. They are there to keep me safe. There is no such thing as good or bad emotions.
They all have a job to do. We weren't created with built in booby traps.
They are there to protect and support any lifestyle you have chosen to pursue and alert you to any mental or physical changes you may experience. Think, gauges on your cars dashboard.
They're there to warn you, support you and help you ...Period.
2 - I've made a simple distinction in my life about the different emotions. Emotions that make you feel like smiling are telling you that you are on the right road and emotions that make you feel sad or scared are telling you to stop or slow down and beware, a detour or change may be needed. SIMPLE. It is too difficult to be aware of all the conscious thoughts flying around and, oh yeah; those subconscious thoughts are a real walk in the park. I embrace my emotions first. This helps me keep on moving forward until I can capture and decide what to do with my thoughts.
3 - Thoughts affect your emotions and your feelings. When you can capture a thought you have
4 simple options:
A-Treat the thought as family and give it a home.
B-Treat the thought as a guest and only give it a few minutes or a few hours to visit.
C-Treat the thought as an intruder and throw its butt to the curb.
D-lock it in the "closet" until you feel rested or have the time to deal with it.
4-There is only ONE way to manage your emotions and be able to constantly move smoothly towards your goals:
EMBRACE THEM and TALK TO THEM.
When sadness knocks or fear jumps out at you, find a safe place where you can Talk to yourself, Scream, Cry or just fall apart if that's where your session leads you. Think about where you want to classify your thoughts and then start to ask yourself questions. Remember you may also feel sad or scared for no apparent reason.
Questions will set you free. ASK: Emotions, what are you trying to tell me? What am I feeling? I am scared or sad but why? What happened to change my mood? Push and probe until you feel the rush of an emotional volcano. It's an experience you will never forget.
TALK OUT LOUD.
In any case, let your feelings wash over you.
Let the answers to your questions make the tears flow. Tears and talking out loud with yourself will lighten your mental pain. Tears, like laughter, are an emotional release...It is not a sign of weakness.
Tears, Laughter and screams are simply emotional safety valves.
5 - The MAIN POINT... Emotions don't want to live with you. They just want to be heard and know they did their job. Acknowledge them and they move on...And so do you.

CHANGE IS GOOD....BALANCE IS NEEDED
Teetering on the Brink of Balance
By Sheryl Turgeon
"The human body is unlimited in potential; it is just a matter of knowing how to access it."
~John Douillard, PhD
As the plane rises in the sky, the attendant explains, "If the oxygen mask drops down, put your own mask on first. Then you may help your children with theirs." That statement has become quite profound to me. As I am learning with my clients, we can't really help others when our own lives are too frenetic, chaotic, overburdened, or stressed.
As women, we have been taught to be "good girls" and make sure others' needs are satisfied before our own. It is a message that translates into ignoring fatigue, saying "yes" when we mean "no," keeping silent when slighted so we don't offend others, and slipping into roles that never quite fit us. Many of us feel so much guilt or anxiety when we try to break free of the dictates of our culture, that we simply find it "easier" to keep being good.
The prescriptions for healthy living abound in our women's magazines-get regular exercise, sleep eight hours, eat a well-balanced diet, maintain close relationships, drink plenty of water, think positive thoughts, find work you like...Each recommendation is perfectly valid and helpful, but without attending to our core values, needs, and desires, they seem like empty platitudes.
I have seen clients blossom when they learn to love and treat themselves well. Sometimes they make drastic changes to honor their authentic selves. Other times, it just requires enough support from outside, that they learn to recognize how to treat themselves with the same gentle care.
Creating balance in our lives is not an overnight phenomenon. We need to feel well enough in the first place to have the strength to make changes. As a health and nutritional counselor, I have experienced firsthand that we are what we eat. We need to treat our bodies with love and respect by eating whole, fresh foods and cutting down on the caffeine and sugar to start feeling healthy again.
The next step, fresh air and exercise, raises our endorphins, gets our blood flowing and our heart beating. Fresh, pure water cleanses out the toxins and keeps us well hydrated. Now we can get busy on who we are and what gives us joy.
Change happens in baby steps. Maybe we buy ourselves fresh flowers one day. The next day we say "yes" to a yoga class. Day three we leave work early and get a massage. Day four may be calling a friend and delaying dinner for 20 minutes. I'm sure you get the idea. Just implement one new self-love activity per day for a week and see how you feel. You might make some notes in a journal as part of your experiment. Eventually, you will be saying "no" to someone when you feel too tired to take on one more thing. You will realize when you are feeling anxious and slow down to take a few deep breaths.
The practice of listening to ourselves, hearing what we need and then acting upon it brings us into balance. The more we practice, the better life gets. Try it!
