POSITIVE MESSAGES

‎"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof."
RICHARD BACH, Illusions

"Here is the basic rule for winning success. Let's mark it in the mind and remember it. The rule is: Success depends on the support of other people. The only hurdle between you and what you want to be is the support of other people." ~ David Joseph Schwartz Quotes

"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang one minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. "~Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811 - 1896)

Unleash the Power of Persistence and Never Give Up

Dr. Annette Colby, RD

If you refuse to quit - you will succeed. We have all heard this basic advice that persistence is your key to success and making your dreams come true. It is your ability to remain committed to your goals, dreams, and aspirations despite many obstacles along the way. Persistence involves applying steady effort to your goals in spite of any difficulty or discouragement.

Putting a continuous effort toward your goals is very important. However, when you are pursuing big goals, like losing weight, overcoming emotional or stress eating, or moving beyond depression or sadness, it can be easy to feel like giving up. Your path to success may seem quite long and even overwhelming at times. We all hate to hear it, but there is no super-easy path to triumph. However, by learning how to strengthen your ability to persist, you can achieve great success.

Consider the idea that perseverance is not something that you are born with, but a skill that you can nurture and develop. To help you develop a solid life-changing decision to keep going no matter what until get you to your goal, follow the tried-and-true tips below.

The Big Picture

Changing your weight or eating habits, learning to cope with emotions or stress, or overcoming depression is a decision that requires you rearrange your life in a major way. The first action step you can take is to develop a long-term vision of how you want to live your life and the large-scale goals that you want to achieve. Write your overall goal down and fill in the details, draw your concept on paper, or create a visual picture board of you living your dream. Taking these actions will develop the potential and possibility of your new life. Encourage your new potential to grow by feeling yourself already living this wonderful new life. Each time you come back to your big picture, you strengthen the bond between you and the potential of your new life. While your potential may grow and evolve, it is essentially unchanging. As such, it serves to keep you anchored to a solid foundation for success, no matter what obstacles you encounter along your journey.

The Little Picture

To turn your big picture ideas into physical reality, it is necessary that you break down your vision into smaller, achievable, daily action steps. Chunking down your overall goal into doable activities helps prevent the feeling of overwhelm or hopelessness. It also moves you beyond wishful thinking. While your big picture goal remains solid and unchanging, revise your daily action steps regularly to meet your changing needs.

Take Action

Decide to take action every single day. This keeps your attention and energy focused on your goal, places your needs and desires on the top of your daily priority list, and allows motivation to expand. If your level of persistence is low, choose any small, doable action that comes to mind. Pick something easy that will allow you to feel successful immediately. When you choose a doable action, follow through, and achieve success, you feel good. When you feel good, you are more likely to stay motivated and keep going. If you cannot think of where to start, step back and review your big picture. Taking action includes simple, yet highly effective strategies like envisioning yourself successful in your goal, giving yourself an encouraging pep talk, or writing down all the reasons your dream is important to you.

Be Flexible

When some plan or action does not work, be prepared to adjust your course. Stay committed to your original destination, but experiment with finding a new way to get to where you wanted to go. Perhaps one path turned out to be a dead end, but look around and see if there is another path. Be flexible and try new techniques and strategies to get where you want to go.

Focus on Your Accomplishments

Keep a checklist of all the successful, wonderful things you did today. Learning to focus on your efforts and accomplishments gets you where you are going. Chart your achievements. If you do not have a tracking process, you cannot see how far you have come. And if you can't see that you are making progress, you are more likely to quit. Develop daily success lists to keep you motivated. The more monitoring you do and feedback you give yourself, the more successful you will be.

Celebrate

Celebrate your achievements often. If you wait to celebrate until you have done it all, you may never get there.

One Day at a Time

What is one thing you can do here and now that will move you one step closer to your goal? Start from exactly where you are in this moment and be willing to take one step at a time. I once found a humorous quote from a "Deep Thoughts" greeting card that reads, "If you ever teach a yodeling class, probably the hardest thing is to keep the students from just trying to yodel right off. You see, we build to that." It is human nature to want instant results. However, your success is a journey. Gain strength from your big picture, and bring that strength into an action that helps build your persistence. What is one action that you can take in this now moment that will keep you on track and moving forward? You don't have jump off a cliff or make a super-human effort. Instead, be willing to be exactly where you are right now, and take the action that is right for right now.

Think of persistence as a muscle that needs training. The next time you hear that little voice in your head saying, "I give up" just remember that that one more try coupled with the actions above might just be enough for you to achieve the success you want and deserve!

Coach Yourself With Life coaching – Knowledge Is Key To Success

As more people strive to further their careers, the question being asked is by many is ‘How can I cope with all the demands of the modern way of life?’ The more we have, the more we seem to have to do. The fast moving pace in which we live suggests that we can often be stretched to our limits so achieving a good work/life balance to cope with these demands seems to be the main thing everyone is aiming for.

How do we accomplish that?

One of the more popular ways of achieving this is through ‘Life Coaching’. The practice of appointing professionals to guide people through a course of action that enhances your life on every level is becoming extremely fashionable in the Western world.

It has been tried and tested over the last twenty years or so and has become a recognized discipline for many professionals who have to manage stressful and demanding roles. They are encouraged to focus on goals that will take them to the next level of their ‘game plan’.

Advice from experienced counselors is offered that enable people to realize their goals and maximize their potential for a better working life. However, sometimes this plan can involve something as simple as improving a C.V. or interviewing techniques. Ideas on how to improve self confidence and motivation are recommended if someone is to move forward in their working life.

Furthermore, many people discover how to take their lives forward not only through their careers but on a personal level as well. Life coaching is can be sought by people who need advice on losing weight or sometimes help with resolving a personal problem - for example, how to adapt to a new life after a divorce or separation. It can be utilized and adapted for many areas of life which is why it is becoming so popular.

Frequently, life coaching takes the form of one to one sessions or sometimes, seminars where students can bounce ideas off each other. Often internet forums are set up for people seeking advice on work/life balance and personal development which can be easily accessed 24hrs a day giving those involved a sense of readily available support.

All in all, the general feeling is that Life Coaching not only benefits the individual but those around them too – that is, their work colleagues and, just as importantly, people in their personal life.

CHANGE IS GOOD? IT'S All ABOUT YOUR ATTITUDE

There's a saying: "Change is good." There are plenty of times in life when you might be tempted not to believe those words. You lose the job you've relied on for ten years. How is that a good thing? If you believe in your heart that it's a good thing, it is a good thing, because the belief that "change is good" will automatically lead to positive change in your life.

This is not an airy-fairy feel-good band aid theory. It has been embraced by positive thinkers around the world for thousands of years. Some of them you have never heard of and some of them, like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and other great leaders are beacons of light to all of humanity. Ask yourself this: who has ever created positive change through negative thinking? Negative thinking is destructive to you and to everyone around you.

Positive thinking is always empowering - Always.

Viktor Frankl was a great neurologist and psychologist who lived through the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps. He survived that experience by finding meaning and value in life even under the most horrific conditions. One of his most famous sayings is this: "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

If you lose your job suddenly, that is a stimulus for change. Your freedom lies in your response - your decision. If you believe that change is good, you will bring about positive change in your life. Suddenly, what looked like bleakness and poverty becomes a doorway to possibility that would have been closed to you had you not lost your job.

Nobody's saying there won't be challenges ahead of you. If you were making fifty or a hundred thousand dollars a year and suddenly find yourself having to work as a cleaner in a factory just in order to eat, it's going to be a difficult transition. But while you're cleaning the floors, you can think about that novel you always wanted to write but never did and when you go home at night, you can work on it.

Who knows, you may even find that sweeping floors is a pleasant change from your formerly stressful job! Now that your "safe career" is gone, you have the freedom to nourish your creative side. Even if it never pays you a dime, it can provide you with riches that money just can't buy. Just nourishing your inner genius is a positive change and is sure to lead you in other positive directions.

Believe it: you are the captain of your fate. Think positive and positive things will happen. They may not be the things you expected or even wanted, but if you embrace change with a positive attitude, you can't help but learn, grow and thrive.

Success? You need To Know Nothing Else But These Two Principles

BY BARRY SARNER

I started reading personal development books over 30 years ago. I know now that they all say the same thing 3 million different ways and the same exact thing 6 million ways. . . . And even better than that I know the authors become rich trying to teach all of us how to be rich.I am also a great believer that change is good

All these books and speaking events keep you feeling powerful and invincible for at least a week after you finish the book or after the event that you paid the $100 to hear someone tell you to think positive thoughts. You know, and I know, that your reality knows exactly when to jump back in and have you twist and shout.

Regardless of all this, and now you'll think I'm definitely certifiable, you need to keep doing it. Be discriminating, but continue reading and listening. The major point, and possibly the biggest life changing point to remember, is that you "JUST NEVER KNOW".

You never know how that one word , that one sentence, the one way someone says something a little differently, even after you heard it a dozen times, you never know what it will open up for you.

That flashpoint or Aha moment could change the direction of your whole life. That's why I keep reading and searching.

I always felt that I should keep reading and asking questions because otherwise I would never know if something I read or heard would be powerful enough to change my life. My biggest and most impactive moment was when I read the following excerpt from "Good To Great" By Jim Collins:

"You must maintain unwavering faith that you can and will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties, AND at the same time have the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be."

In my opinion this principle should be the cornerstone of your success journey and all the elements that are used should be built around this principle.

It's so simple but so powerful. . . . . .If you want to succeed, you need to cultivate your ability to do these two HARD things at the same time:

1-Stay firm in your belief that you will prevail in the end (HOPE)
2-Confront the brutal facts around you. Deal with your Reality.

I believe it impacted me in a ginormous way because it said to me:

1-You don't have to feel great all the time on your success journey. You don't have to be positive 24/7
2-Everyone has tough times and to be successful you need to push through the darkness. You're not the only one getting your butt kicked.
3-It's ok to be afraid and sad but you have to admit it and move through it.
4-If you believe and maintain Hope in every part of your body and mind you can make it to the other side.

Did you have that one event, one word or one situation that set off the fireworks that lit up the darkness and moved you on to the road of success ?

We would love to hear about it . . . . .

Good Luck

Best wishes now and forever

What It Is The Most Essential Element Needed In Your Success Arsenal?

BY BARRY SARNER

Hope is the number one element in your Success Repertoire (love that word).

"Once you choose hope, anything's possible." ~Christopher Reeve

To understand why Hope is such an essential element in moving forward one just has to look at the definition to see its power.

Hope is Defined:
Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

In a religious context, it is not considered as a physical emotion but as a spiritual grace. Hope is distinct from positive thinking, which refers to a therapeutic or systematic process used in psychology for reversing pessimism. The term false hope refers to a hope based entirely around a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome.

When I talk about being successful it's whatever you deem it to be, or maybe, you just want to be OK and feel nice about life. What is important is that you have to understand that you're the one that has to lead your thought process and not let your thought process drag you around.

Having hope is like taking your next breath, breathing. Everyone needs it. It gives you the strength and power to live your life. Some people overflow with Hope and others are too busy drowning in their reality to be able to touch it, no less embrace it. The good news? Everyone possesses a seed of hope -- even if you don't realize it!

When the world says, "Give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."
~Author Unknown

If you feel you know how to get what you want out of life, and you have that desire to make that happen, then you have Hope.

If you're not seeing that good things could happen to you, feel like tomorrow will not be a better day and your reality has got you feeling that your situation is permanent and there is no way out here are a few pieces of advice to help you move forward:

1- If you're not seeing anything and the feeling of permanence is overpowering you then it's time to act quickly. Seeking out professional help would be the safe thing to do as soon as you can. Feeling Hopeless is a dangerous sign that something is very wrong and having a professional help you work it out will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Better to be safe . . . .

I know . . . . . . it happened to me about 18 years ago. It works.

2- As I said earlier, we all possess a seed of Hope. How do we nurture it and have it bloom? The first and foremost truth that you must always remember:

YOUR SITUATION IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT, PERMANENT!!! EVERY SITUATION IS TEMPORARY.

That in itself is enough of a reason to have Hope.

Change is coming. When change comes it gives you the chance to adjust your situation. Every day you get the chance to start all over again. Moving forward and adjusting your circumstances little by little will bring more change. Keep taking action until you break through the darkness. You will be ok and there is plenty of Hope to go around.

3- Your Success Support Community . . . . Having one or many people (pets included) in your life is essential to nurture Hope in your life. It could be anyone but it has to be a person or persons that are good people and really get you and get it. It's time to look around at the people who are in your life. Who makes you feel good? Who could you rely on to remind you that "the sun will come out tomorrow"? Who has their feet on the ground and who can you trust to have your back? It could be family, teacher, friends, lovers, professionals, anybody that really cares about you.

4-Reading and having virtual friends, dead or alive, is another way to nurture Hope. Feeling Good by David Burns and Think and Grow rich by Napoleon Hill are at the top of my list for books that remind me that anything's possible. They remind me that Hope is alive and well and it's mine for the taking. Biographies on past or present people are another great source. Articles on the internet can become part of your own virtual library or extended posse and you could even reach out to the authors and talk about Hope. Google "Hope" .......and go to the article directories to find great advice on Hope.

"Consult not your fears but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do." Pope John XXIII

Best of luck.....You're going to be fine!

Best wishes now and forever

CHANGE IS COMING . . .Be prepared or LEARNING HOW TO PLAY WITH OTHERS

By Barry Sarner

Afraid to go for it? Think your dream is way over your head? You think you don't have the resources to be successful? Think you can't make a difference in the world? Think again!

The first three essential ingredients needed to take along on your quest for success in your professional or personal life is : SUPPORT, SUPPORT and more SUPPORT.

You need one or more supporters who will be there for you when you get to that critical point where the pain exceeds the passion and you just can't move forward. You need people who care about you and people who are willing to take the time to understand you and the way you're wired.

Opportunity does not make house calls. You need to get out and meet people. Join network groups. Volunteer. Risk yourself a little bit.Go out and meet people and see what you can do for them.

"Giving people a little more than they expect is a good way to get back more than you'd expect." -- Robert Half

If you're out and about and showing people that you're genuine and that you care about them they'll share their knowledge, different perspectives, degrees of maturity, diverse experiences and wisdom with you.

Here is a list of what you need for support:

1-You need people around you who will tell you like it is.
You must toughen up and be able to deal with their reality not yours. What is "real" to you is affected by your habits and thoughts. Right now you need honesty and a new perspective.

Listen to them...don't debate them...and then ask questions.

why do you feel that way? How can I change my situation? How would you do it? Do you know where I can get help and support? These are a few questions to ask. These questions will help you understand where that person is coming from and if his/her opinions are really useful or not. If you have a specific topic contact me and we could work on more questions.

2-You need people around you with more experience than you have.
I have over 30 years of big time experience building offline businesses and only a few months on the internet. My coach and mentor for the internet is a very successful, well known internet Entrepreneur by the name of Trent Brownrigg. He's 29 years old and I'm 58. Don't get stuck on someone’s age. More experience than you have is more experience than you have.

3-You need people around you who are smarter than you.

You want to get bigger and better? This is the only way.

4-You need people who are "creative".

I don't mean Artists or Writers . . .You want people with great imaginations, street smarts and a lot of moxie.People who will grab you by the scruff of the neck and say "C'mon let's do it" or "Hey you could do this, this and this"

5-You need people who have "BEEN THERE and DONE THAT.
Overall . . .You need people who "get it"

Finding the right people will take time. Next month is coming whether you do something or not. So why not start now and help yourself. Who knows? By next month you could be on your way to building a powerful success support network or You may get lucky and find one or two people who have all of the above.

To Expedite .....Where do you get to meet and develop relationships with some of these special people as soon as possible?

The Good News? One of my best friends and a huge supporter is NAPOLEAN HILL.... Yup, That's right. He's Dead.

Your support, encouragement, and motivation does not all have to come from a Live Person.

Of course, there is nothing better than the real thing but Books, Articles, forums, Blogs and Websites could be and should be a huge source of nourishment.

You can make friends with and have access to some of the brightest minds and the most successful people the world has ever known.

They should always be part of your mastermind group no matter how many live supporters you have.

To find great works: "Google" should be high on your list of tools that you use to develop your round table.....Play with words. For example: success support, mastermind groups, hope, persistence, books on success ETC. ETC. ETC. Spend a day in Barnes and Noble. Check out ezinearticles.com and other article sites.

Get moving today. Change is coming no matter what you do. One of the most important tools to have in working with and understanding the CHANGES that are coming your way is a success support network.

CHANGE IS GOOD . . . . .IT'S OK TO FAIL

Perspective - Failure is a Key Step to Success - Be a Half Full Person
By Robert Britt

Life is a series of small steps, triumphs mixed with tragedy, peaks interspersed with valleys and successes paired with failures. One thing that is true though is the people who make the most of their lives are the ones who focus on long term goals and keep the triumphs at the top of their minds. The "glass half full" folks are the ones with the better self esteem and the ones who have the most success.

And it doesn't matter how you measure that success. Some people measure it by their net worth, while others 'measure' it by how many people they can help. Either one is valid, as long as you live and work with integrity and keep love and respect for other people in your heart.

The secret of achieving your goals is knowing that everything that you do brings you closer to them, if you don't let those things set you back. What does that mean? It means that every failure is one step toward success. Knowing the peaks will follow the valleys. It is said that Thomas Edison, considered one of the most prolific inventors ever, looked at his 'failures' as merely a step in the process. "OK, that didn't work, what's next?" That is key.

Seriously, think about anything you really want to attain. Don't think about how you failed to make it happen now. Too many people give up after a short period of time and don't persevere. If we did that as youngsters, none of us would be walking upright now. "It's just too hard. I fall down every time." Parents of toddlers know exactly what I am saying here. First just standing is a challenge, then taking one step then two. Suddenly we are balanced (in a sense) and walking with the giants (adults, in this example)

The same thing is true with people looking to lose weight. They spent years gaining the weight, yet get discouraged if after a month or two that the fat isn't just melting away. The slow road is not always the most exciting, but it certainly is the most stable. This is true in life and in any endeavor we chose to undertake.

Take those small steps. Embrace the failures as learning experiences. Remember that you are the creator of your future and that everything that doesn't kill you truly does make you stronger, either physically or mentally. All it takes to make positive gains in life is the desire to make a change and the will to persevere with the knowledge that things are getting better every day. This is not rhetoric, this is how I live my life.

In order to make progress in your life you have to commit to making change. If you don't make changes tomorrow is going to be very similar to yesterday, with the exception of you being a day older. Do you really want to improve your situation? 10 Minute Transformation Is ten minutes too much time to spend to live better?

CHANGE IS GOOD . . . .ALL YOU NEED IS HOPE

When the world says "Give Up,"

You are the ONE !!! You make it happen!!!
