CHANGE IS GOOD . . . . .IT'S OK TO FAIL
Perspective - Failure is a Key Step to Success - Be a Half Full Person
By Robert Britt
Life is a series of small steps, triumphs mixed with tragedy, peaks interspersed with valleys and successes paired with failures. One thing that is true though is the people who make the most of their lives are the ones who focus on long term goals and keep the triumphs at the top of their minds. The "glass half full" folks are the ones with the better self esteem and the ones who have the most success.
And it doesn't matter how you measure that success. Some people measure it by their net worth, while others 'measure' it by how many people they can help. Either one is valid, as long as you live and work with integrity and keep love and respect for other people in your heart.
The secret of achieving your goals is knowing that everything that you do brings you closer to them, if you don't let those things set you back. What does that mean? It means that every failure is one step toward success. Knowing the peaks will follow the valleys. It is said that Thomas Edison, considered one of the most prolific inventors ever, looked at his 'failures' as merely a step in the process. "OK, that didn't work, what's next?" That is key.
Seriously, think about anything you really want to attain. Don't think about how you failed to make it happen now. Too many people give up after a short period of time and don't persevere. If we did that as youngsters, none of us would be walking upright now. "It's just too hard. I fall down every time." Parents of toddlers know exactly what I am saying here. First just standing is a challenge, then taking one step then two. Suddenly we are balanced (in a sense) and walking with the giants (adults, in this example)
The same thing is true with people looking to lose weight. They spent years gaining the weight, yet get discouraged if after a month or two that the fat isn't just melting away. The slow road is not always the most exciting, but it certainly is the most stable. This is true in life and in any endeavor we chose to undertake.
Take those small steps. Embrace the failures as learning experiences. Remember that you are the creator of your future and that everything that doesn't kill you truly does make you stronger, either physically or mentally. All it takes to make positive gains in life is the desire to make a change and the will to persevere with the knowledge that things are getting better every day. This is not rhetoric, this is how I live my life.
In order to make progress in your life you have to commit to making change. If you don't make changes tomorrow is going to be very similar to yesterday, with the exception of you being a day older. Do you really want to improve your situation? 10 Minute Transformation Is ten minutes too much time to spend to live better?
