What It Is The Most Essential Element Needed In Your Success Arsenal?

BY BARRY SARNER

Hope is the number one element in your Success Repertoire (love that word).

"Once you choose hope, anything's possible." ~Christopher Reeve

To understand why Hope is such an essential element in moving forward one just has to look at the definition to see its power.

Hope is Defined:
Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

In a religious context, it is not considered as a physical emotion but as a spiritual grace. Hope is distinct from positive thinking, which refers to a therapeutic or systematic process used in psychology for reversing pessimism. The term false hope refers to a hope based entirely around a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome.

When I talk about being successful it's whatever you deem it to be, or maybe, you just want to be OK and feel nice about life. What is important is that you have to understand that you're the one that has to lead your thought process and not let your thought process drag you around.

Having hope is like taking your next breath, breathing. Everyone needs it. It gives you the strength and power to live your life. Some people overflow with Hope and others are too busy drowning in their reality to be able to touch it, no less embrace it. The good news? Everyone possesses a seed of hope -- even if you don't realize it!

When the world says, "Give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

If you feel you know how to get what you want out of life, and you have that desire to make that happen, then you have Hope.

If you're not seeing that good things could happen to you, feel like tomorrow will not be a better day and your reality has got you feeling that your situation is permanent and there is no way out here are a few pieces of advice to help you move forward:

1- If you're not seeing anything and the feeling of permanence is overpowering you then it's time to act quickly. Seeking out professional help would be the safe thing to do as soon as you can. Feeling Hopeless is a dangerous sign that something is very wrong and having a professional help you work it out will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Better to be safe . . . .

I know . . . . . . it happened to me about 18 years ago. It works.

2- As I said earlier, we all possess a seed of Hope. How do we nurture it and have it bloom? The first and foremost truth that you must always remember:

YOUR SITUATION IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT, PERMANENT!!! EVERY SITUATION IS TEMPORARY.

That in itself is enough of a reason to have Hope.

Change is coming. When change comes it gives you the chance to adjust your situation. Every day you get the chance to start all over again. Moving forward and adjusting your circumstances little by little will bring more change. Keep taking action until you break through the darkness. You will be ok and there is plenty of Hope to go around.

3- Your Success Support Community . . . . Having one or many people (pets included) in your life is essential to nurture Hope in your life. It could be anyone but it has to be a person or persons that are good people and really get you and get it. It's time to look around at the people who are in your life. Who makes you feel good? Who could you rely on to remind you that "the sun will come out tomorrow"? Who has their feet on the ground and who can you trust to have your back? It could be family, teacher, friends, lovers, professionals, anybody that really cares about you.

4-Reading and having virtual friends, dead or alive, is another way to nurture Hope. Feeling Good by David Burns and Think and Grow rich by Napoleon Hill are at the top of my list for books that remind me that anything's possible. They remind me that Hope is alive and well and it's mine for the taking. Biographies on past or present people are another great source. Articles on the internet can become part of your own virtual library or extended posse and you could even reach out to the authors and talk about Hope. Google "Hope" .......and go to the article directories to find great advice on Hope.

"Consult not your fears but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do." Pope John XXIII

Best of luck.....You're going to be fine!

Best wishes now and forever
Barry
